Trading style
Dating back to 1540 and named after King George himself, the George Inn is a beautiful pub that is brimming with olde worlde charm. It still retains many of its original features, including inglenook fireplaces and old oak beams hung with fairy lights and Kentish hops, giving it a warm, cosy and welcoming feel. The George is a year-round destination dining venue that provides its customers with a first-rate dining and customer service experience. The traditional British style cuisine is carefully prepared using locally sourced, quality ingredients, and whilst the daily specials board provides a more relaxed feel, whilst the à la carte menu appeals to those looking for something more special. The pub currently operates from Thursday to Sunday, welcoming visitors from far and wide, and the weekly Sunday lunch is always a hit. The extensive garden lends itself to several private weddings and events, and it hosts the village's annual fireworks event, which is quite spectacular!
The George Inn is available immediately for the right applicants on either the traditional tenancy model or a partnership agreement. The pub company is looking for a hands-on chef or experienced food operator with honed marketing skills and a clear vision of what makes the perfect destination dining venue. It offers incoming applicants a great opportunity to extend the trading hours, maximise the garden, paddock and barn potential for weddings, private dining and seasonal events and to really make the George a unique venue truly worth travelling for.
