Property Features:

As the county town of Staffordshire, Stafford has excellent transport links, and thriving town centre. As a busy town centre and Ye Olde Rose and Crown sits snugly on Market Street, just off the market square between the Gatehouse Theatre and Stafford’s fabulous central library. The Brewery are really proud of the Stafford Taphouse because they have a very long history in Stafford and the old Brewery had lots of houses in the town.

Ye Olde Rose and Crown was built around 1830, but the extensive cellar with an arched ceiling are substantially older, forming part of the original ale house. The site was restored this cosy, characterful quintessential ‘hole in the wall pub’ in 2011. Revealing original panelling which lay hidden for years, wide oak board flooring and a commission for the biggest etched mirror, depicting an original design.

The back bar has a real fire and is just as cosy as the front room. To the rear, there is a great walled beer garden, perfect for an afternoon lunch break or perhaps a quick interval visits from the Gatehouse Theatre.

Trading Style:

This pub's location makes it popular with theatregoers and is often frequented by cast members enjoying an after-show pint. The pub has an excellent reputation for live music and a strong position at the heart of the community. The Brewery is looking for an experienced, traditional pub operator who has a passion for real ales, excellent service standards and who is ready to embed themselves in the local community.

The Brewery attracts people who are likeminded and care about their pub culture. People who treasure traditional, straightforward pub values and principles; real ale, real fires, real food, real hospitality. Successful operators with the Brewery are relaxed pub professionals, executing proper pub standards, attentive and genuinely friendly service and who can also create a hub of sociability and banter. They are knowledgeable business people in their own right who can make a success of the tenanted model and agreement.
