Property details
The Britannia is located in the attractive market town of Brigg, North Lincolnshire. With an approximate population of 6000, the town has a good-sized high street with a variety of well-known high street brands and independent retailers. The pub is located at the top of Wrawby Street close to the pedestrianized retail zone and the town's railway station.
The Britannia Inn has an open-plan bar area with a mixture of loose and fixed furnishings. To the right of the main entrance is a dedicated pool room area (the Britannia hosts established pool and darts teams) and a further seating area with large TV. To the left of the main bar area is the bar itself, with an additional room off to the left featuring a darts oche and a small seating area with access to the trade kitchen. Through to the rear of the bar are the customer toilets. Although the pub doesn’t currently offer a food menu the kitchen is well equipped and offers a great opportunity to expand the business to any operator with the right skill set.
Externally there is a courtyard area, which features a covered gazebo area and a mix of fixed and loose outdoor seating.
The private accommodation consists of three bedrooms, a lounge, a bathroom, and a kitchen. There is also a large storage area at the rear of the premises.

Trading style
The pub currently trades as a wet-led community pub with both darts and pool teams, live sports, and a strong regular trade throughout the day. Regular entertainment is popular, with a karaoke disco at the weekend and occasional live acts. There is an opportunity to introduce a food offer as the pub has a well-equipped catering kitchen with easy links to the lounge and bar areas. Food has been successfully offered and supported in the past and should be a serious consideration to any prospective applicants given the passing trade and high footfall through the town centre.
The Britannia is located at the top of a high street and the best retail offer would consist of a great selection of draught ales and lagers, coupled with a good choice of premium wines and spirits. Food and a good coffee offer would complement the business and make it more appealing to daytime shoppers and those using the local railway station. Great standards, terrific customer service, and a well-delivered weekly activity plan are all needed to maximise the full potential this site has to offer.
