Welshpool is a small rural town situated in Wales on the Shropshire borders, 15-20 miles south of Shrewsbury and Oswestry. It is called Y Trallwng in Welsh, which translates as “the marshy or sinking land”. You will discover a large livestock market on the outskirts of the town, and the River Seven and Montgomery Canal also run through the location. Furthermore, Powis Castle, situated on the outskirts of the town, attracts about 150,000 visitors each year.

The Wellington is a cosy, intimate pub steeped in history. Over 150 years old, the publicans used to brew their own beer onsite using water from a well that was located behind The Eagles pub, which is no longer in existence. It was even cited in a list of inns in 1858. The pub has had a recent refurbishment improving the outside of the pub to attract more customers.
