Red Lion

The Red Lion is located near the village of Upper Poppleton on the A59 York to Harrogate Road. This ideal location just on the outskirts of York city centre makes the Red Lion a great base for a visit to this historic city. The main bar is well presented and cosy with Yorkshire stone flooring and a real wood-burning fire with space for around 40 covers. It has a separate modern 50-seater restaurant which serves a busy carvery on a Sunday and hosts various functions including birthdays and weddings. The Red Lion also has 16 clean and well-appointed ensuite bedrooms including four spacious family rooms.

The large trade kitchen is fully equipped with top-of-the-range equipment plus a walk-in fridge and freezer. The pub has a spacious garden with a fishpond that borders the hotel bedrooms and also has a large lawn surrounding the restaurant that can easily accommodate a marquee for weddings. There is a generous car park on site with space for approximately 50 vehicles.
