The Open Hearth is situated on the Abergavenny - Newport Canal with super views on the valleys. It is north of the Welsh town of Cwmbran just 10 minute drive from the vibrant town of Newport. With a large car park this pub offers a place for the local community, drive to diners and a place to stop for the holiday tourists visiting the canal barges. It has a bar, lounge, function room and large kitchen with a 2/3 bed well decorated flat upstairs.

Through the main entrance that sits just off the side of the canal bank, the interior is set with a low wooden beamed ceiling and traditional black and white décor. The trading area is split into two parts with the left side of the bar designed to be more of a casual drinking spot for guests, overlooking the canal and seating for around 20 customers. The right side is occupied as a dining area that seats approximately 24 covers. The trade kitchen serves straight into the dining area and comes equipped to offer a quality menu for guests. Towards the rear of the property, a large function room accommodating around 70 people is ideal for hosting parties or wedding receptions and has access to its own bar. 
Accessed from the function room, a large car park at the rear of the property can hold up to 25 vehicles and connects to the main street leading into the nearby residential areas.

With the front of the pub overlooking the canal, a large wooden decking area has been erected to the side of the premises and can seat around 20 guests. It offers a lovely place to stop and take in the tranquil surroundings of the countryside and the views on offer from this fantastic location.

The private accommodation offers the new publican a spacious and well-kept flat above the pub, comprising three bedrooms, lounge, kitchen and separate bathroom.
