The Waterloo is ideally located on Dewsbury Road which is the main link to and from Wakefield from the M1 and M62 motorways. Wakefield is a popular cathedral city in the district of West Yorkshire on the River Calder and the eastern edge of the Pennines. Known for its cathedral, history, rugby, and culture, Wakefield is also growing in popularity for its arts and theatre creating more and more traffic to the city every year. Along with being on the main road into the city, the Waterloo also benefits from having a number of local shops and amenities within walking distance along with an abundance of chimney pots on the surrounding side streets.

The Waterloo is a two-room operation. On entering the pub you are welcomed into the open-plan, main bar lounge with a single bar servery facing you on entry. To the left of this room, there is a games area, complete with a pool table and darts board, including poser tables, tall bar stools, and plenty of room for vertical drinking. To the right-hand side of the pub is a more relaxed seating area with fixed seating in the box bay windows, an open fireplace, and a mixture of loose seating and tables. Throughout these sections, there are televisions dotted about for live sports. To the rear of the pub, there is a self-contained private function room that does exceedingly well with community events.

Externally to the rear, you will find an impressive car park, which could easily accommodate up to fifty vehicles. The beer garden is also located to the rear which is a mixture of patio and lawned areas, with a number of picnic benches for external drinking in the warmer months and sunny days. 

The private accommodation is located on the first floor of the pub and can be accessed both internally and externally. It has been kept in very good order and is a comfortable size, comprising: two double bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and lounge.
