The Greyhound is a two-storey Grade II listed terraced building and is both a local community pub and a recognised destination venue for both wet and food customers. The character building provides the perfect ambiance for customers to relax and enjoy the extensive range of cask ales, craft bottles and cans, world wines, and a fantastic spirit range. Food is served most days and presently offers a bar menu and a range of homemade dishes, all prepared and cooked on site. There is a regular Monday night Quiz and some entertainment.
The area has enjoyed major development of student accommodation that is now open.
From the frontage, the main public areas to the left are a cosy front bar with an open fire and a fully equipped bar servery. This leads through to the rear bar, with a servery, some fixed seating and loose furniture.
Internally, there is access to the 1st floor function room for around 50 people, with its own bar servery and glass washing, this also links with the upper terrace, so a party could have use of the function room and terrace. On the ground level to the right is the catering kitchen, ladies', gents', and disabled toilet accommodation, and access to the 2 beer cellars located in the basement.
From the rear bar area there is access to an inner courtyard that is glazed to the side and has a retractable roof. There are bifold doors that separate these areas, so if required, the whole area can be open. There is a further open outdoor area as a smoking solution and stairs to the upper terrace, a true sunspot, seating approx. 25 people.
The site needs to establish a rhythm of the week of appropriate events and activities to accommodate the various customer bases that currently use the pub or could do so in the future.
