The Crown is an attractive 16th-century pub at the heart of the village of Old Basing near Basingstoke in Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable operator to build this wonderful business for the people within the surrounding villages and businesses. The Crown is a grade II listed building, with a sunny decking area at the front, a beautiful walled garden, a full catering kitchen, a bar area, a dining area with approx 40 covers and a snug area. 

The interior is decorated in a traditional style, with exposed beams, rough plastered walls and wooden flooring. There are three main trading areas: a bar, a restaurant and a separate snug room with a wood-burning stove. The compact bar servery hosts cask ales and is double-sided sided allowing for easy service. The cosy restaurant can seat 40 covers and also has its bar servery, with overhead storage for wine glasses, which provides a visible nod to the range of quality wines available. The fully equipped trade kitchen is located to the rear of the pub. This is accompanied by a kitchen porter area, just outside the building, and dry stores and extra fridges are located via a covered walkway through this area. 

A licensed decking area to the front of the pub has seating for a dozen guests and also provides a highly visible retail offer to passing trade. To the rear, a magnificent walled garden is arranged over several tiers, is partly laid to lawn, part patio and has seating for over 40 covers. There is a children’s play area, and with trestles, mature trees and potted plants, this space is a pleasant sanctuary and fine spot to enjoy a bite to eat or relax with drinks. To the front of the building are five parking spaces, and a further 15 cars can be parked to the side of the property.
