Property details
This famous old Alehouse has previously been CAMRA pub of the year and could possibly be one of the very best pubs. It has some lovely traditional features both inside and out and appeals to a wide range of discerning customers. It is situated in the centre of Kidderminster, Worcestershire, a town famed for the founding of the carpet industry where the trade still enjoys a healthy presence. The population within 1 mile of the pub is over 30,000.
On entry, you are greeted with a large traditional fireplace with a variety of low tables and chairs, the L shape bar is on the left which allows access through to the back bar. Down a small step, you are greeted with another trading area for up to 20 covers. The traditional bar has an impressive array of spirits and seven cask ales. The ladies toilets are situated between the two trading areas, the gents are through the courtyard.
The outside area really is a hidden gem, the rear courtyard is a covered area with benches and quirky decoration, very popular with the locals and visitors. This leads onto a vast marquee with over 10 benches that follows down to another open-air area with further benches.
The private accommodation can be reached from behind the bar, and the first flight of stairs leads to a large office, storage space, and commercial kitchen although some work will be needed to make it more functional. Then located on the third floor, there are two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, and living room all in reasonable order, but would benefit from some re-decoration.

Trading style
The Ye Olde Seven Stars currently engages in the community with live music, quiz nights, and other community activities, with its traditional features creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It is mainly focused on drink sales with a reputation for excellent cask ales, a wide selection of gin and whiskies with a small bar snack offering with the potential for this to be developed. With its wooden floor and large fireplace, the pub is welcoming in the winter and its fantastic outside area offers a sun trap in the summer. There is scope to develop community teams such as dominos.
This superb Ale house requires care and attention to maintain its role as a real aspirational pub. The landlords are looking for a person or couple with a passion for cask ale and a desire to achieve cask-led or indeed industry accolades and awards. Ideally, an experienced licensee or industry professional with the necessary drive, ideas and customer focus to build on the current success.
The ideal licensee will ideally know the area and have the skills to market, promote and grow the wet offer, grow sports teams, and launch entertainment, including live music. Pride, passion, personality, an eye for detail, and focus on great standards are a few of the key skills I’m looking for in a potential operator.
