Trading style
Although City centre-based, it has a community feel and enjoys plenty of regular custom with a vibrant vibe from the cask ale, craft, and traditional cider enthusiasts.
On the main bar, there are 9 free-of-tie hand pulls focusing on local breweries and traditional cider, and 9 craft beer lines all supported with the mainstream favourites.
They host "The Laughing Lamb” Comedy Club every other Tuesday, there are opportunities to add Quizzes , Open Mic and Live Music. In the football season the pub benefits from football traffic for Derby County, and they plan to instigate a bus service to the ground.
The pub company is looking for a couple or single operator, ideally with some local knowledge and experience of running a cask ale venue with a real passion for and understanding of cask & craft ale, and traditional ciders. They can demonstrate active business-building skills and are comfortable with social media, organised and customer service-focused, and able to create and manage a safe, inclusive environment. The business is well established, and keeping the core trade is essential. Some experience of being self-employed and managing a small team of employees is an advantage. If not immediately, the pub company requires its licensees to be a Limited Company, have a business bank account, and be registered for VAT.
