At heart, the Old Coach House is a community local but it is also a destination site for its cask ales with Southwell being quite a hub for the real ale enthusiast with many starting or finishing at the OCH. The pub hosts its own darts team and Golf Society that has ever-growing numbers. The TNT Live Sport along with football has a strong rugby following.
The pub does host some entertainment, open mic nights, and a weekly quiz but essentially it is all about the beer, conversation, and fun.
The pub is very much a pub and trades wet only, opening from mid-afternoon in the week and all day at the weekends …. It is busy and the trade level may surprise … creating a wonderful pub atmosphere.
The pub company is looking for a couple or single operator ideally with some local knowledge and experience of running a cask ale venue with a real passion for and understanding of cask ale. They can demonstrate active business-building skills and are comfortable with social media, organised and customer service focused, and able to create and manage a safe inclusive environment. Some experience of being self-employed and managing a small team of employees is an advantage.
The business is well established and keeping the core trade is essential.
