The pub is of a traditional design, split into two levels, both being served from the central bar, and offers some 75 covers with standing space. The pub supports darts, hosts a weekly Quiz, and presently has entertainment on Sunday afternoons

Edwinstowe does enjoy some tourist traffic, but the Black Swan trades mainly as a community local. Although it is located on the High Street, it is a quaint, old English single-lane street with independent shops and cafes, and the post office is across the road.
The pub trades Free Trade and offers an excellent range of products. There is a can buy list of over 100 cask ale brewers available, although cask ale sales presently are slow, but it does provide an opportunity.
The pub company is looking for a couple or single operator who can demonstrate active business-building skills and is comfortable with social media, organised, customer service-focused, and able to create and manage a safe, inclusive environment. The business is well established, and keeping the core trade is essential. Some experience of being self-employed and managing a small team of employees is an advantage
